The Malone family have green fingers. Their fruit farm in Closh, a stone’s throw from Ballon, has been carefully cultivated by three generations of Malones, starting with Tom and Elizabeth in 1983.

 A strong influence from local ingredients and sustainability is keenly felt when you dine with us at Ballykealey House. Local suppliers are given pride of place across our menus providing you a true sense of place.
Carlow Cheese is based on a working farm, of 30 hectares, adding value to a primary product ~ milk. Cheese is made from a flock of Lacaune dairy sheep, originally imported from France.
Malone fruit farm is a family run farm producing seasonal soft fruit from June to October along with a selection of our own frozen fruit and a range of small batch preserves.
